LUMA invites the audience to a fairytale-like world, bringing them to their childhood memories.

Luma

It is a sound responsive light installation that was inspired by the natural phenomena of bioluminescence and the fairy tales of youth.

The installation is comprised of several million fiber optic strands, resembling a cluster of white dandelions. The internal LEDs inside "Luma" illuminates when activated by the sound. The audience interacts with the installation by talking or singing to microphones that are installed inside the gallery (during gallery hours) as well as outside of the building (after gallery hours). Based on the length and volume of the voice from singing or talking, the brightness changes accordingly. When "Luma" shines, it creates enjoyable and dreamy feelings.

It was created in collaboration with Kevin Siwoff and premiered at Red Bull Studios, New York in 2015 for the NEW INC Showcase in 2015.
